On June 17, SAFE’s Coalition for Reimagined Mobility (ReMo) submitted a comment letter to the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission to continue informing the direction of the Maritime Transportation Data Initiative (MTDI).

ReMo’s support for the MTDI’s goals remains steadfast and the letter applauded the initiative’s continued focus on data accuracy and information related to moving containers through marine terminals in an effective way.

The letter references ReMo’s research and explains how developing data exchange standards can enhance stakeholder communication and data accuracy in international ocean transport, fostering innovation, competitive markets, reduced emissions and costs, and advancing digitalization and next-gen technologies to decrease oil dependence in the freight sector.
