Washington, D.C.— SAFE’s Coalition for Reimagined Mobility (ReMo) commends the Trump administration for its bold action to advance American leadership in unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVOTL) technologies through the newly issued Executive Order to unleash American drone dominance.
This forward-looking policy aligns with ReMo’s vision for robust, future-ready Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) infrastructure and the safe, lawful deployment of next-generation aviation technologies across logistics and passenger transport, as detailed in our report, “Beyond Takeoff: Policy Strategies to Build the Infrastructure Future for Advanced Air Mobility.”
The Executive Order’s directive to prioritize high-performing U.S. manufactured UAS represents a vital step toward reducing the growing risks posed by foreign-controlled platforms. These systems threaten data integrity, introduce surveillance vulnerabilities, and risk crowding out U.S. innovation in a strategically critical sector for both civilian and defense applications.
Additionally, the Executive Order’s emphasis on expanding drone operations, accelerating eVTOL deployment, and integrating AI tools for regulatory processes reflects a comprehensive approach to modernizing U.S. airspace and aviation infrastructure. By supporting pilot programs in cargo transport and emergency response, the Administration is fostering innovation that can lead to significant economic growth and improved public services.
“This Executive Order is a pivotal step toward realizing the full potential of Advanced Air Mobility in the U.S., said Avery Ash, ReMo’s Executive Director. “By prioritizing the integration of eVTOL technologies and streamlining regulatory frameworks, the Trump Administration is laying the groundwork for a future where aerial mobility unlocks economic growth while strengthening safety, security, and innovation. Just as importantly, this order strengthens the domestic drone industrial base by prioritizing U.S.-manufactured UAS, promoting their export, and taking clear action to ensure our technology remains secure from undue foreign influence and exploitation. Today’s Executive Order sends a strong signal that America is serious about both competing globally and protecting its skies at home.”
ReMo also supports the accelerated timeline to finalize Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone operation rules and the new restrictions on unauthorized drone activity near critical infrastructure. These actions mark a meaningful shift toward securing our skies while unlocking the full economic and operational potential of unmanned systems—from logistics and emergency response to infrastructure inspection and industrial site management.
ReMo urges continued bipartisan momentum to ensure that future aviation infrastructure is not only innovative and efficient—but also sovereign, secure, and strategically aligned with U.S. national interests. We look forward to working with policymakers, industry stakeholders, and communities to implement the strategies outlined in Beyond Takeoff, ensuring that the U.S. remains the global leader in Advanced Air Mobility.
