Both hires will report to Alisyn Malek, executive director, working closely with her to shape Reimagined Mobility’s agenda.

Marla has led research efforts at Eno Center of Transportation and LA Metro, shaped global data policy at Bird, and focused on business development at MobilityData. The perspective she brings having worked across both the public and tech-enabled private sector is unique and critical to expanding the point of view of the work of the commission. As director of policy, Marla will be responsible for driving thoughtful and rigorous research to define the future of mobility.
As director of strategic communications, Ashley Simmons joins Reimagined Mobility with more than a decade of experience representing advocacy organizations in the technology, telecommunications and transportation sectors, including Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America). She is also the founder and CEO of REVVIT Public Relations. She has both helped to change the conversation for existing industries and create the conversation for new industries which will be critical as Reimagined Mobility works to change the mobility dialogue globally. Ashley will be key to communicating and expanding awareness of CFM’s mission to reshape the vision for transportation policy.
“Our goal at the Coalition for Reimagined Mobility is to improve everyday life for people, communities and business, by shaping policies that provide better, more convenient access to safe and sustainable transportation options, while mitigating the climate crisis,” said Alisyn Malek, executive director, Reimagined Mobility. “Marla and Ashley are key to our work to disrupt traditional transportation policies and move towards embracing a people-centered, environmentally sustainable systems approach to global mobility. We have a lot of work ahead of us, and we’re looking forward to leveraging research and global cooperation to affect positive change.”
As Reimagined Mobility looks to drive mobility transformation, Marla and Ashley will play critical roles in aligning and promoting Reimagined Mobility’s work to build strategies informed by data, break down silos, and promote policy solutions that address a new era of technology-enabled mobility and modernized transportation infrastructure to better serve the needs of everyone across all modes, from freight to passenger transportation.
