Christine Weydig

Executive Director

Christine Weydig is the Executive Director of the Coalition for Reimagined Mobility (ReMo), a global initiative of the organization SAFE. ReMo brings together industry CEOs, public sector champions, and academic leaders across transportation, technology, and sustainability to advance public policy and real-world solutions to transform transportation systems and improve the movement of people and goods worldwide.

She is a pragmatic, mission-driven senior leader whose career has centered on placing human wellness and accessibility at the core of sustainable transportation and infrastructure development.

Through her work over the last two decades, Christine has cultivated a unique balance of policymaking and project implementation experience. She has worked across economic sectors and built public-private partnerships to combat climate change and to address the needs of complex energy and transportation systems, increasing their resilience in the face of a rapidly changing world.

Prior to joining ReMo, Christine served as the Director of Sustainability at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. There, she led efforts to achieve industry-leading net-zero climate commitments and engage with agency business partners, industry groups, communities, and other stakeholders on energy and environmental issues. She developed policies and enacted programs to improve resilience and reduce the carbon footprint of the Port Authority’s airports, seaports, bridges, tunnels, rail systems, buildings, and transportation hubs.

She has also overseen and restructured public-sector energy portfolios to support economic development and worked around the globe for organizations including the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of State, the United Nations Development Programme, and the Earth Institute at Columbia University.

In 2014, Breaking Energy named Christine one of their top 10 NY Energy Government Leaders, the same year she received the NY Innovation and Excellence in Energy Management Award. In 2019, the New York Energy Consumers Council honored Christine with their Vision Award. She also earned a U.S. Department of State Meritorious Honor Award for her energy sector work in Iraq.

A respected leader in her industry, she is a regular speaker and panelist at conferences around the world, including Smart Cities NY, NYC Climate Week, and VERGE.

Christine earned a master’s degree in International Energy Management and Policy from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University. She lives in the New York City metropolitan area with her husband and three children.
