Ashley Simmons
Deputy Director
Ashley Simmons serves as the Deputy Director for SAFE’s Coalition for Reimagined Mobility (ReMo). In this role, Ashley helps to advance ReMo’s mission and strategic roadmap, and supports day-to-day operations across its public affairs, policy, and advocacy efforts. She engages with government agencies, legislators, the media, and partner organizations, to bring awareness to ReMo’s global mission — to harness technology and innovative public policy to shape better mobility outcomes for people and the planet. Together these efforts can restore U.S. leadership across the transportation sector and deliver generational change to the environmental, societal, and national security challenges linked to how goods and people move around the world.
Prior to joining SAFE in 2021, Ashley spent the last two decades in the nation’s capital specializing in policy communications and public affairs. Representing the business community across the transportation, technology, and telecommunications sectors, her work has framed key policy debates on supply chain security, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), connected and autonomous vehicles, net neutrality, standardization, broadband deployment, and more. She’s led teams and developed winning strategies to elevate brands and reputations, shape federal and state advocacy campaigns, enact legislation and regulation, and expand global influence. She is also the Founder of REVVIT Public Relations – a consultancy focused on strategies to educate policymakers on technology-centric policy issues.
Ashley earned a Master of Arts in Media and Public Affairs from the School of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University, and Bachelor of Arts in Public Communication with a minor in Political Science from SUNY Buffalo State University. She is based in Washington, D.C.
