About ReMo
The transportation sector is currently experiencing a massive shift—its greatest since the invention of the automobile—with the intersection and acceleration of trends in connectivity, electrification, new models of access, automation, and applications of artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced data analytics.
The opportunity to harness these innovations to improve the day-to-day experience and lasting impact of how people and goods move is within reach, but it requires bold leadership, aspirational strategies—and a reality check, as industries and governments learn how to meaningfully develop, test, deploy, and scale mobility-enabling technologies and benefit from their impact.
SAFE launched The Coalition for Reimagined Mobility – ReMo for short – in 2021 as a global initiative to advance transportation outcomes that accelerate the deployment and scaling of mobility-enabling technologies to improve how people and goods move.
By convening private- and public-sector stakeholders, conducting industry-leading research, and developing policy in the U.S. and Europe, ReMo addresses the barriers to and opportunities for unlocking a 21st century mobility system that is safe, secure, efficient, and sustainable.
About SAFE
SAFE is a mission-driven, action-oriented, nonpartisan organization committed to energy and transportation policy solutions that aim to reduce dependence on oil to ensure the economic and national security of the U.S. and its allies.
Since 2005, SAFE has convened business and former military leaders to advance secure, resilient, and sustainable energy and supply chain solutions.
Today the United States is working to reestablish a meaningful industrial strategy, sparking new public-private partnerships and international dialogues. Energy and transportation are at the center of this evolution, from minerals and materials to the last mile.
In addition to ReMo, initiatives across SAFE take an allied systems approach to focus on transparent and rapid reindustrialization, leveraging advancements in technology for greater sustainability and supply chain resilience, and energy security.
Our Approach
ReMo is elevating strategies to shift global thinking about transportation toward outcomes that:
Put people first and provide consumers with multimodal choices in the safest, cleanest, and most accessible and affordable forms possible.
Leverage technology to increase digitalization and data usage to modernize, connect, and create more resilient systems.
Accelerate decarbonization across the global transportation sector to achieve net zero emissions.
Recognize economic and national security imperatives to moving people and goods.
Create new policy frameworks and standardization, and scrap outdated regulations to develop and scale new mobility solutions.
